Main tasks and responsibilities
• Establish and drive forward the strategic direction of the Construction Business.
• Develop a plan to enter new strategic growth markets for IMCD
• Implement the vision to make IMCD the leading Coatings Distributor and to become the go-to
company for Specialty Distribution
• Grow and sustain sales in the India region for the Construction Business Unit and help formulate
the strategy
• Deliver against stretch business growth objectives and financial budgets
• Foster excellent relations with suppliers and customers across the country
• Negotiate purchase and sales contracts with suppliers and customers
• Balance the supply/ demand of products and manage logistics
• Monitor customer service, technical and product requirements
• Map the competitor and market for various products
• Support the development of new distributorships
Key Attributes
• Extensive construction background with a wide experience of Indian Chemical Industry
• Robust industry network preferably with global companies manufacturing speciality chemicals
for coatings industry
• Ability to strategize well with the suppliers along with strong negotiation
• Strong on relationship management and ability to guide a high performing sales team towards
set objectives
• Dynamic self-starter with excellent communications skills
• Handled sales in the past along with sound technical background
• Possess the ability to influence effectively with commercial and technical contacts from a range
of major international companies
• Be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines and to prioritize accordingly
Essential Qualifications
• Full time graduate degree in Chemical Technology/ B.E./ B.Tech/ B.Sc. Chemistry
• Working knowledge of sales related CRM tools
• Conversant with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
