Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced and proactive Site Inventory and Stores Head to oversee all aspects of inventory management and store operations at our CSCPL Mangalore site. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in inventory control, logistics, and warehouse management, with a strong track record of optimizing inventory levels, reducing costs, and improving operational efficiency. As the Site Inventory and Stores Head, you will be responsible for managing inventory accuracy, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring smooth flow of materials to support site operations. This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive process improvements in a dynamic environment.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

ROLE:

 

  1. Inventory Management: Develop and implement inventory management strategies to optimize stock levels, minimize carrying costs, and ensure availability of materials to support site operations.
  2. Inventory Control: Establish and enforce inventory control procedures to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of inventory records, including cycle counting, stock reconciliation, and variance analysis.
  3. Stock Replenishment: Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and coordinate with procurement teams to replenish stock in a timely manner, balancing the need for adequate supply with cost considerations.
  4. Warehouse Operations: Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping of materials, to ensure efficient and effective handling of inventory and timely fulfillment of orders.
  5. Inventory Analysis: Conduct regular analysis of inventory data, trends, and performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement, cost reduction, and process optimization.
  6. Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in inventory management processes and implement solutions to streamline operations, improve accuracy, and enhance productivity.
  7. Team Leadership: Lead and motivate a team of inventory and warehouse staff, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of performance and continuous improvement.
  8. Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices in warehouse and inventory management, including proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials.

 

Departmental Objective:

 

RM & FG Stores

  • To plan procurement of RM ,Packaging Material, Manufacturing Consumables and General Items  to ensure defined Minimum Stock Level at all times
  • To monitor the receipt and issue of Raw Materials, Consumables, Packaging Materials ,General Items and Inter Unit Stock transfers, and to ensure that the Physical Stock exactly corresponds to the SAP Stock
  • To monitor the receipt and dispatch of Finished Goods and By-Products, and ensure that the Physical Stock exactly corresponds to the SAP Stock
  • To ensure the OTIF dispatches of Finished Goods and By-Products and proper packaging as per Customer requirement
  • To monitor Non-Moving Material and ensure the disposal of Non-Moving Stock

Engineering Stores

  • To monitor the receipt and issue of Engineering Items, and ensure that the Physical Stock exactly corresponds to the SAP Stock
  • To maintain Repaired Items Stores and Scrap Stores
  • To ensure timely Disposal/ Sale of Scrap
  • To Monitor the Job work material item within defined period

Education + Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field.
    • 10-12 years of progressive experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
    • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles, warehouse management systems, and best practices in inventory management and logistics.
    • Proven leadership abilities, with experience in team management, coaching, and performance management.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Proficiency in inventory management software, SAP systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
