Job Description
The main purpose of the role for Head - Accounts and Finance is:
- Develop and implement financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
- Analyze financial data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in financial reporting.
- Communicate financial results and analysis to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and records.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance activities, including preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance with tax requirements.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors for audits and tax matters.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations.
- Monitor banking relationships and optimize cash management processes.
- Develop and implement strategies to maximize returns on cash and short-term investments.
- Evaluate and implement financial systems and technology solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes.
- Ensure integration and interoperability of financial systems with other business systems.
- Provide training and support to finance staff on financial systems and tools.
- Lead and motivate the finance team to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
- Provide coaching and development opportunities to finance staff to enhance their skills and capabilities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the finance team.
